Therapy and Group Counseling: Northern Virginia

There is nothing worse than facing a problem you don’t know how to deal with.

You may have many friends and family who are supportive and willing to offer you a listening ear. But there is a difference between a therapist and a friend. Therapists are trained to understand your particular needs without bias or judgment, and to help guide you through the most difficult of emotional terrains.

In Step is a leading, private, mental health practice in Northern Virginia providing therapy services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families since 1995.

Through counseling, you are more able to understand your problems, explore your feelings, and select a course of action that is both productive and appropriate to your particular situation. This may translate into a brief course of therapy or longer term work.

We emphasize a collaborative approach to working with other mental health professionals and other outside helping agents in order to meet your needs more effectively.

Although In Step is a multi-dimensional group private practice offering a wide range of services by highly trained clinicians, we specialize in group work. Our groups focus on: social skills training, AD/HD and Asperger’s disorders, depression, anxiety, anger issues, children struggling with divorce, teens struggling with interpersonal issues, and parenting problems.

Most notable is the Stepping Stones social skills group therapy program for children and their parents which has historically formed the cornerstone of this group practice.

Your first step is to call our office to schedule an appointment.

We’re living in a stressful area in what some may call troublesome times. Our hope is that In Step can meet your needs. But if we can’t, we’ll be able to help you find someone who can.
