Aspergers & High Functioning Autism Social Skills Group

This group is designed for children and adolescents with significant social and emotional needs, i.e., Asperger's, high functioning autism, Pervasive Developmental Delay - PDD, and Non-Verbal Learning Disability - NVLD. These groups are small and self-paced. Parent involvement is required, and coordination with other professionals is maintained. The group goals include the following:

• Improve eye contact
• Communicate more effectively with others
• Recognize the feelings and actions of others
• Develop empathy for others
• Learn an emotional vocabulary
• Enhance ability to cope with teasing
