Much of what we do with Stepping Stones (the social skills group therapy program we run here at the practice with parents and kids) is to help children develop the skills they need in the here and now to understand the feelings and actions of others and how to respond to them with empathy and kindness.

In this opinion piece from the NY Times, Sherry Turkle discusses how technology and our phones are affecting empathy and social development of this generation.
